I’m Back — and Writing Under a New Name
“If you return to the place where your soul first sang, you’ll hear the echo waiting.”
After a few months of silence, I’m writing again.
Not for the algorithm. Not for applause.
But because I must.
If you’ve been here before, you know I’ve wrestled with this calling for years. Why I keep writing even when it pays nothing wasn’t just a confession—it was an act of survival.
And then I stopped.
What happened?
Life. Exhaustion. A slow-burning disconnect between the man I am and the life I’ve built.
I wrote about it in The Biggest Fight of My Life, and that title wasn’t metaphor. It was personal.
That fight wasn’t about work or money or success.
It was about staying in touch with my spirit, my voice, my why.
And now I return—to write, yes.
But also to reclaim.
Why the New Name?
I’m now writing under a new name:
In Search of Mo(re)
It’s a play on my name—Mo—but also a gesture toward the inner search. For meaning. For connection. For that unnamed longing that keeps pulling me back to the page.
This newsletter is part diary, part meditation, part soul-work. I write to make sense of the world—and myself—in it.
Who I Am (Again)
I’m a 57-year-old man trying to run a company, stay in good health so I can trek trails in my 80s, support my family, and grapple with questions that don’t have easy answers.
I’ve built a life, and still, some mornings I wake up wondering what it’s all for.
I’ve read the mystics. Sat with the Stoics. Devoured Gibran, Hesse, Hemingway and Bukowski.
And yet I’m still searching.
This is a space where I lay that search bare.
Where I confess what I’m learning—and unlearning—about finding a life’s cohesive philosophy, being human, compassion, connection, ageing, creativity, the world and the contradictions in all of it.
I write as someone who has endured the grind, made a living, and met targets.
And still wants more.
But not more of the same. But rather,
More honesty.
More clarity.
More joy.
More life.
What to Expect
Short essays. Quiet confessions. Honest questions. Occasional poetry.
No hacks. No hustle. No hype.
Just a man trying to write his way through it.
If any of that resonates—welcome.
Not to a brand or a lifestyle.
But to a conversation.
This is not a blueprint. It’s a voice.
This is not a product. It’s a pulse.
Thanks for being here. And for searching—with me.
